All Dressed Up With No Place To Go!

On Thursday morning Shane woke up, got dressed (not by himself - he is brilliant, but not quite ready to dress himself) in his long sleeve onesie, flannel jeans, and White Sox jersey. He looked so adorable and was all ready for his first major league game (not that he has been at any other type of baseball game!) However, the weather did not cooperate. It was rainy and cold all day so we decided to skip the game. It was a good thing we did because 1) there was a 3 hour rain delay and 2) we would not have been able to get there anyway. Why you ask? Well, we lost the only set of car keys that we have for our Kia. How you ask? No clue! Dan moved the car on Wednesday night, got out of the car, locked it with the remote, and the keys were never seen again. They disappeared somewhere between the car (parked on the street in front of our house) and the house. Please don't ask me if I looked in Dan's pockets or the grass or anywhere else - we searched and searched and searched some more. That is the car with our car seat base and stroller so we need to be able to get in it and drive it! My parents were wonderful enough to come over so we could use their AAA to get into the car (we were hoping that the keys were in the car - they weren't) and then 5 minutes before they arrived we realized we had roadside assistance on our warranty. We called and that tow truck driver was here 10 minutes later. My amazing parents drove an hour to get to us at 7 pm for nothing! Well, they did get to see their favorite grandson, but still... Then, my outstanding mother in law came over bright and early (postponing her golf game) Friday morning so I could get to the Kia dealership and get keys made. We are postponing getting the remote entry for now (because it will run us $175) in hope that they will show up! We are so thankful for having such wonderful family! We love you all!
Today our friends Mike and Sally Schaefer came over with their ADORABLE boys, Michael and John! It was so great to see them! They brought Shane this beautiful wooden block with his birth date, name, weight, etc all carved in it! It is so neat! They also brought him a very cool magnet play set and wooden blocks. They are moving to Costa Rica where Mike will teach for a few years! It will be an huge change and a wonderful adventure! We can't wait to read all about their journey and experiences! I again meant to take pictures, especially of their boys with Shane, but I forgot!!!! UGGHHHH!
I am including some recent pics of Shane!
